CLASS INTENT:
Rising Titans is the advanced Jr. Dragster division within Nitro Dave’s Clash of the Titans. This class is the final development stage before door car racing, focused on reaction time, discipline, and professional race procedures.

CLASS ELIGIBILITY:

  • Vehicle Type: Jr. Dragster vehicles only
  • Power Type: Fuel-burning internal combustion engines only — electric-powered Jr. Dragsters are prohibited
  • Driver Age: 13–18 years old
    License: Valid NHRA Jr. Dragster competition license required
    Age Verification: Required at first Rising Titans event

NHRA SAFETY COMPLIANCE:

Rising Titans follows all current NHRA Jr. Dragster safety guidelines.
All vehicles, drivers, and safety equipment must meet or exceed NHRA Jr. Dragster safety requirements in addition to the rules outlined by Nitro Dave’s Clash of the Titans.

Any safety-related item not specifically covered in the Rising Titans rule set will default to NHRA Jr. Dragster safety regulations, and NHRA rules shall take precedence in all safety matters.

FIELD SIZE & QUALIFYING:

  • 16-car qualified field
  • Expands to 32 cars with 29+ qualified entries
  • All cars qualify together; top qualifiers advance
  • Ladder: Sportsman pairing ladder

RACE FORMAT:

  • 7.90 Index
  • Breakout enforced
  • .500 Pro Tree
  • Deep staging prohibited
  • Heads-up index competition

PERFORMANCE LIMITS & PENALTIES:

  • Index: 7.90 (1/8 mile)

Eliminations:

  • Quicker than 7.50 ET or faster than 85.00 MPH → Disqualified from event

Testing/Qualifying:

  • Quicker than 7.50 ET or faster than 89.99 MPH → Disqualified and subject to further action

CLASS DESIGNATION & NUMBERING:

  • Designation: Rising Titans (RT)
  • Example: RT 27
  • Numbers minimum 4 inches tall, displayed on both sides

ENGINE & POWER:

  • Fuel-burning internal combustion engines only
  • Electric-powered Jr. Dragsters and/or electric propulsion systems are prohibited
  • One (1) rear-mounted engine maximum
  • Maximum 5 horsepower
  • Single-cylinder, single-spark-plug, flathead, four-cycle configuration
  • Factory-sealed Briggs & Stratton 206 crate engine permitted
  • PDRA/NHRA-accepted aftermarket flathead engines permitted
  • No overhead valve / no overhead cam engines

Prohibited:

  • Electric motors, battery propulsion, hybrid systems
  • Nitrous oxide
  • Turbochargers / superchargers
  • Fuel injection
  • Power adders of any kind

FUEL & FUEL SYSTEM:

  • Gasoline, alcohol, or gasohol only
  • No fuel additives/boosters/oxidizers (scents permitted)
  • Naturally aspirated carburetor only
  • Pressurized fuel systems prohibited
  • Fuel tank mounted behind driver and below shoulder hoop; one tank max

IGNITION & ELECTRONICS:

  • Magneto or approved battery ignition only
  • No delay boxes, throttle stops, stutter boxes, computers, or driver aids
  • No real-time data transmission

DRIVETRAIN:

  • Chain or belt drive only
  • One dry centrifugal clutch max; axle clutches prohibited
  • Chain guard and clutch guard mandatory
  • Gear-type transmissions prohibited

BRAKES, STEERING & SUSPENSION:

  • Two rear-wheel brakes mandatory
  • Line locks prohibited
  • Rack-and-pinion steering required
  • Suspension permitted (max 2" upward travel)
  • Wheelie bars permitted (no sensing)

CHASSIS & FRAME:

  • Must meet PDRA/NHRA Pro Jr. Dragster chassis specs
  • Minimum 5-point roll cage
  • SFI 45.1/45.2 padding mandatory
  • Wheelbase: 90"–150"; max 2" side-to-side variance

BALLAST:

  • Removable: 25 lbs max
  • Total: 100 lbs max
  • Must be bolted; none in cockpit; no changes after engine start

TIRES & WHEELS:

  • Rear tires minimum 18" x 7.5"
  • Pneumatic only; no tire treatment
  • Aluminum/steel wheels only

BODY & AERO:

  • Jr. Dragster-style bodies only
  • Wings allowed
  • No adjustments during run
  • No altered/funny car/roadster bodies

DRIVER SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

  • Full-face helmet (Snell SA / SFI approved)
  • SFI 38.1 head & neck restraint mandatory
  • SFI 16.1/16.2 5-point harness
  • Arm restraints mandatory
  • SFI 3.2A/1 jacket & pants; gloves/shoes/socks required

STAGING & ON-TRACK PROCEDURES:

  • No push staging past pre-stage
  • Stage under own power
  • No tuning after pre-stage bulb
  • Driver stays belted/helmeted until on return road and stopped

CONDUCT & ENFORCEMENT
Unsafe operation or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification. Officials’ decisions are final.
